While I was writing in my private journal last night in Dalhart, it was a balmy 44 degrees. I awoke this morning to snow on the ground and the temperature in the 20's. But the roads were decent and in no time we were on dry pavement. Raton Pass was clear and we were fine until we were west of Denver on I90, but we didn't need chains and we eventually made it into Frisco. It's 6 degrees outside now and when Jim and I went to walk the dog I thought my nose was going to fall off. But the air is clean and my sinuses haven't felt better.

The pantry has been stocked, the boots and skis have been rented, dinner has been served and the dishes have been washed. Time to turn to my journal, perhaps or maybe it's time for bed...
